Akshay is reponsible for everything
‘It’s all because of Akshay Kumar,’ says Pritam Chakraborty with a straight face. ‘When he started charging unheard-of prices (apparently in the vicinity of Rs.300 million) the entire economics of an average film project altered drastically.
‘Today my musicians, arrangers and programmers are asking for a steep hike in their remuneration. I’ve no choice but to hike my fee accordingly.’
Though Pritam doesn’t mention a specific amount, his fee has apparently gone up from approximately Rs.700,000-800,000 per score to around Rs.1.2-1.5 million, industry sources said.
All other composers, including the successful Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Vishal-Shekhar, apparently charge similar amounts.
But after the release of the soundtrack of ‘Singh Is Kinng’, which has been sold at a staggering price of Rs.135 million, composer Pritam is likely to hike his fees again.
‘The film redefines the parameters of film music sales. This kind of price for a movie soundtrack was unheard of after people stopped buying music off the shelf as much as they used to, thanks to computer and television outlets,’ said Pritam.
However, he hasn’t benefited much from the profits raked in by ‘Singh Is Kinng’.
‘We musicians remain underpaid specially when the music industry undergoes a slump. For me, the turning point was the soundtrack of ‘Jab We Met’, which gave me a chance to be unusually creative and then ‘Race’ that had peppy item songs,’ he said.
Music maestro A.R. Rahman is a price apart. Apparently, his fee per score used to be around Rs.15 million that, considering the all-round escalation in movie budgets, has gone up to Rs.25 million.
Last year’s flamboyant flavour Himesh Reshammiya has stopped doing music for films that do not feature him in the cast. So he cannot be counted among the musicians in the race.
However, composer Aadesh Shrivastava, who composed chartbusters like ‘Say shava shava’ in ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ and ‘Merii makhanaa’ in ‘Baghban’, feels the bubble is an illusion.
‘And it’s bound to burst. Who are these people who are suddenly paying in multi-millions for music rights when everyone knows music doesn’t sell these days. Very frankly, I look at the Rs.135 million claim for the ‘Singh Is Kinng’ soundtrack with great scepticism,’ said Shrivastava.
‘Whom are they giving that kind of money to? The film’s leading man Akshay or the music composer Pritam? Have they given Pritam even a fraction of the money they’ve got for the music rights?’ he asked.
Shrivastava feels film music is going through an era of unhealthy competition.
‘I remember when Laxmikant-Pyarelal had composed the qawwalli ‘Parda hai parda’ for ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, R.D. Burman was so thrilled that he immediately congratulated the duo and was inspired to compose a qawwalli ‘Hai agar dushman’ in ‘Hum Kissi Se Kam Nahin’.
‘Today the competition is so unhealthy. If two plagiarised songs click in a movie, another music director will offer to rip off four songs for the same producer and make them chartbusters. Today, when a listener hears a song, his first reaction is, ‘Where is it stolen from?’
‘Very honestly I see no future in Hindi film music,’ he remarked.

New man in Sonam Kapoor’s life

Looks like Sonam Kapoor has found her new love in Kunal Kapoor. This Bollywood Kapoor Jodi is nowadays often scene roaming around coffee shops, malls, etc with hand in hand.
Looking at the recent happenings in both the stars life they really could heal each others broken heart. Where Ranbir Kapoor dumped Sonam for hottie Deepika Padukone, Kunal Kapoor too had a break up with gorgeous Dia Mirza.
So the couple could surely understand each other’s situation and try to bring happiness on their respective lives. Especially, Anil Kapoor’s daughter Sonam was so depressed after her break up with Ranbir that she went for a 2 months hideout.
But we would like to warn this emotional girl about Mr Kunal who has not only ditched Diya Mirza but also has an flirtatious history of dumping Raima Sen.
Being an emotional girl we would recommend Sonam to think twice before moving ahead in her relationship with this flirt natured guy.
Twinkle wasn’t spying on Akki and me

Twinke Khanna made a sudden entry on the finale day of the IIFA 2008 event. Was it to check on her husband since Katrina and Akshay were performing together and there was no sign of Salman around?
She clung to Akshay throughout and made sure he never left her side even for a few moments or even attend his calls.
There were talks going around that Katrina was trying to call up Akshaye frantically before the performance but Akshay didn’t pick up the phone. Was it because Twinkle was sitting with him?
Kat baby got so pissed off with all these stories that she decided to give to give it back, “People need to stop imagining so much. This is pure imagination on someone’s part.
Akshay Kumar came in for the show in the night and left right after as he had a flight to catch. I had dinner with Twinkle and some of her friends after that and even my mom was with me. So what’s with these stories?”
Sick of comparison with Hrithik Roshan
“My looks are not something that I have manufactured. It is what I’m born with. There might be some similarity with Hrithik, but I completely disagree that we look the same or I am following his dancing or acting style,” Harman said during a product promotion function in the capital.
Harman even got irritated when some audience members kept on inquiring about his resemblance with Hrithik. “Chill. Don’t repeat, I have already answered it, ” he said.
The actor who is all set to debut with his futuristic flick ‘Love Story 2050, ‘ said, there are several actors in the industry whose resemble each other.
“The tradition of seeking similarity among the actors is not a new trend. When Shahrukh Khan began in the industry, he was compared to Dileep Kumar and similarly Diya Mirza looks like Aishwarya and Priyanka Chopra is being matched with Madhuri Dixit, ” the actor said.
Harman, who is being launched by his filmmaker father Harry Baweja in the mega-budget science fiction film ‘Love Story 2050, ‘ has in the movie performed several dance sequences that resembles that of Hrithik Roshan.
Astrologer told me not to Invest in IPL

Exuberant, chirpy, happy-go-lucky Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, who has now turned into a businesswoman, says she invested in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in spite of warnings from an astrologer friend.
‘In spite of the warning from my astrologer friend, I went for the deal as I had a gut feeling that it is the future. I told my friend that if it doesn’t work for me then I would become the 50th wife of the Sultan of Brunei, ‘ Preity, who co-owns the IPL Mohali team, told.
The star of hits like ‘Salaam Namastey’ and ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, Preity said it was only in a developing country like India that one could think of buying a sports team.
‘The scenario is going to change after 10 years. One can never dream of buying a team like Manchester United or Arsenal today in a country like England.’
Preity bought Kings XI Punjab in partnership with her boyfriend Ness Wadia and Karan Paul of Apeejay Surrendra Group and Mohit Burman of Dabur. They paid $76 million for the franchise.
Although Preity’s team failed to reach the final, she is not complaining.
She said: ‘My team performed well and I am happy with all the team members and will continue my support for the team.’
As far as book balancing was concerned, she said this had not been a profitable year but was optimistic they would do better next time.
How long will her association with the team last?
‘I am there for life. I am not there just for the sake of it. First people took me as a brand ambassador and then as a face value, but I wanted to make people take me seriously in the game and I did my best to prove myself.
‘I think I was successful (in this), ‘ the actor added.
‘I do things which I believe in and am passionate about, be it the IPL or films. I give my heart and soul to them, ‘ Preity said.
Now that IPL is over, Preity is concentrating on her films and the ‘Unforgettable’ world tour with the Bachchans starting July 18.
She will be touring the US, Britain and Canada with Amitabh Bachchan, his son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya. Riteish Deshmukh and music directors Vishal-Shekhar are also a part of the tour.
‘I am very excited to go with them as Abhishek and Ash are my great friends. Besides, the participation of guest stars like Akshay Kumar, who is joining us in Canada, Madhuri (Dixit) in the US and Shilpa Shetty in London, will add to the excitement.
‘This is the first time when we will be joined by performers from different parts. The audiences will be huge and we are expecting an overwhelming response.’
Apart from this she will be busy with ‘Harr Pal’, ‘Heroes’, a cameo in the Salman-Kareena Kapoor starrer ‘Main Aur Mrs Khanna’ and Deepa Mehta’s Punjabi film ‘Heaven On Earth’.
People simply love Vidya when Wet
You may not look that much satisfied with the reasoning though, but you have to think and believe that Guru was a hit and among few of her screen presences in Guru, Vidya had a drenched-in-rain scene which was obviously the reason behind Guru flaunting a hit.
Unfortunately, people spent time talking about Abhi-Aish and others in the flick. Thus, though the film was not released in monsoon, the film had a monsoon scene to boost Vidya kismet.
I know you must be thinking about the other side of the coin. Thus I have the list of her other films like Salaam-E-Ishq, Bhalo Theko (Bengali) and Halla Bol which domed at the box office for a simple and single reason of not releasing at the monsoon.
Guess what! Vidya’s Kismat Konnection is getting released during monsoon and thus leaving no room to think of its failure at the box office. What else, Vidya has nothing but to wish re-releasing Halla Bol and Salaam-E-Ishq during this monsoon to click hit.
Jokes apart, guess what Vidya will be singing all these days… “Rain rain, come again, make my releases worth and bless me with gains”.

Koena is paying price for bad surgeries

What if your house is old and dilapidated?
You should obviously go for a plastering and renovating the walls and all. But what if your house is well enough to show the gloss for which you have spent so much and despite that you are insisting on its renovation?
Of course, you must either be too keen on changing matter or must be having problem with your… you know what I mean!
It seems Bolly babe Koena Mitra also falls into the second category which is either busy thinking for change or goes crazy for having nothing else to do. The actress seemingly has decided to follow on the footsteps of famous pop singer Michael Jackson these days.
Starting with a boob job Koena further went for face lift followed by surgeries on her nose and lips. But all this has worked in a negative way for this Saaki Re girl.
Instead of enhancing her beauty these surgeries have had a horrific effect on her once attractive face. That maybe the reason that this bindaas babe can’t manage a single film and is left with very little money.
Looks like Koena would have to again go for different surgeries to regain her past look. But beware Koena till the date you finish with your surgeries it isn’t too late for you.
In Bollywood, one is remembered only while he or she is seen on the silver screen or else this glam world’s memory is too short.

Media should not indulge in loose talk: Deepika Padukone
"Om Shanti Om" girl Deepika Padukone is annoyed with the press for publishing stories about her romantic link-ups, saying they will dent her reputation and cause future embarrassment.
"The media needs to be a little restrained. I am a simple girl and from a respectable family. And loose talk about me harms my reputation," Deepika, who will be seen in "Chandni Chowk to China", told IANS in an interview.
"One day, like any other girl, I intend to settle down and have children. How would those write-ups look at that time? I'm so glad I've found a man who comes from the same space and understands the pitfalls of sensational journalism."
Deepika, who was apparently seeing cricketer Yuvraj Singh at one time, is now reportedly set to tie the knot with Ranbir Kapoor.
Ask her why she and beau Ranbir went public about their relationship, Deepika said: "Because this is the first time I've actually and truly fallen in love. Being in love is the loveliest feeling. When two people are getting close they need time to understand one another."
Both of them will be seen together for the first time on screen in "Bachna Ae Haseeno".
Excerpts from an interview:
Q: Post "Om Shanti Om" (OSO) how has your life changed?
A: All this is very new for me. My father (bandmintom champ Prakash Padukone) was also a celebrity, but we were never exposed to media coverage. Before I went into the modelling profession, I did go into my dad's profession - it was the expected thing. I played badminton at the national level. But I realised my heart was set on modelling. Movies weren't even in my range of vision. But after two years of modelling, I started getting film offers I was only 18 then. I didn't want to jump into anything.
Q: What took you down south?
A: You mean my Kannada film "Aishwarya"? I am from Karnataka and it was directed by a young and talented man, Indrajit Lankesh. And I was paired with a huge Kannada star, Upendra.
Q: Did you speak your own lines?
A: Yes, I did. I learnt Kannada in school. Farah Khan had already offered me "OSO". But we were to shoot a year later. So I did the Kannada film.
Q: You remind me of Aishwarya Rai.
A: I'd take that as a compliment. I grew up watching her. When I was in school I remember how thrilled I was when she won Miss World. Ash and Sushmita Sen are people I've admired.
Q: What do you and Ranbir talk about?
A: Well...we do know what's going on in each other's careers. But otherwise we try to keep cinema out of our conversation. We try not to get into one another's workspace.
Q: It's amazing but both of you started your careers in Hindi films as fierce rivals in "Saawariya" and "OSO"?
A: That rivalry was more media-created than anything else. Comparing me with Sonam Kapoor was so uncalled for. We come from two totally different spaces and we started differently. She assisted Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I come from the modelling world. And our debut vehicles are so different. Fortunately, we were too involved with our own projects and had no time to think of each other as competition.
Q: You started with Shah Rukh Khan as a co-star. Can it get any bigger?
A: I hope it does. Initially, I was very nervous about working with him. But Farah and Shah Rukh made it very comfortable for me. We did readings together, we met socially so that we were comfortable when we faced the camera. He's again someone I grew up watching.
Q: He kept making those uncle jokes.
A: He was just being kind. I'm really glad I came in at a time when there're so many co-stars to work with - from Shah Rukh and Akshay Kumar to Neil Nitin Mukesh and Ranbir and Harman Baweja, who's coming into films this year.
Q: You have acquired the reputation of being extremely choosy.
A: Yes, every project takes up so much of your time. You've to be sure of what you're doing. So often I say no because I don't have the time. I meet every director who wants to meet me. I do consult my parents. It would be unfair to distance them from my career just because they aren't part of the entertainment industry. But the final decision is mine.
Q: How do your parents react to your link-ups?
A: It used to affect them initially. Now they're fed up reading new things every morning. We've decided to continue with our normal lives.
Q: Is the image of the boyfriend deserter hurtful?
A: The media needs to be a little restrained. I am a simple girl and from a respectable family. And loose talk about me harms my reputation. One day, like any other girl, I intend to settle down and have children. How would those write-ups look at that time? I'm so glad I've found a man who comes from the same space and understands the pitfalls of sensational journalism. I feel after a point no one will take these write-ups making a tamasha out of my life seriously.
Q: Why did you and Ranbir decide to go public about your mutual feelings?
A: Because this is the first time I've actually and truly fallen in love. Being in love is the loveliest feeling. When two people are getting close they need time to understand each other. I've reached an age when I can't be in a frivolous relationship. Linking me to so many men at a time when I wasn't sure about my feelings was unfair.
Q: Did the earlier link-ups collapse because of the excessive attention they got?
A: Quite possible. At the end of the day it was just destiny that I was meant to be with Ranbir and we're very happy together.
Q: Do you get time to be with each other?
A: We try to be together as much as possible. We did a film together, "Bachna Ae Haseeno". That's when we got close. We had met and interacted earlier, but we didn't get a chance to know each other well enough. He was busy with his film. I was busy with mine. We were under all kinds of pressure. Everything became very messy. In Australia, when we shot together we started afresh. We almost met like two new people. There was no baggage to be carried forward from the past because even in the past we didn't part bitterly.
Anupam Kher would like to give back to society
Versatile actor Anupam Kher, who plans to start an orphanage, says it is time to look beyond personal gain and give something to society.
"I've reached a stage in my life and career where I need to look beyond my immediate gains and losses. I've always been a socially concerned individual. Now it's time to take those concerns to fruition and not sit around waiting for things to happen," Anupam told IANS.
He will start the orphanage under the flagship of the Anupam Kher Foundation.
After proving his mettle as an actor in films like "Saaransh", "Daddy" and the recent "Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara", the actor recently started the acting school called Actor Prepares in India as well as abroad. And now with the Anupam Kher Foundation that has just been set up, he shifts his focus to a social cause.
"A long-cherished dream. I've already met the government for the land. I've appointed Ujjwal Bannerjee, a product of the Times' Lead India campaign, as CEO of my foundation."
Bannerjee says: "We're going to be allotted land in the Bandra-Kurla area. But before that we want to start a slum-children counselling facility. There're kids in the slums who give up studies at the age of seven-eight to earn a living. They need someone to show them the way, keep them from straying.
"Or we've children becoming victims of abuse. They don't know where to go and speak their minds. We plan to start our counselling service in the Andheri slums, then reach across to the other slums."
The orphanage, which Anupam hopes to start by the end of next year, will have 50-60 children to begin with.
"And this will be extended to 100 children," said Bannerjee. "We want to extend the counselling and the orphanage eventually to other areas of Mumbai and then the rest of the country."
Adds Anupam: "I don't even want to talk about this, but the orphanage is a very precious dream. And I must say the government has been very helpful. I want to open the doors of our orphanage to children from all over the country. They shouldn't only be given basic amenities, but a chance to grow into fine citizens."
Currently, Anupam is on the outskirts of Vadodara shooting for a film called "Saancha". He plays a bricklayer in the film, which is being directed by Alokenath Dixit.
"For the first time I've brought my parents along on an outdoor shoot. They play cards and watch old romantic films like 'Amar Prem' the whole day. Just watching them together, I feel so good. I hope we can give to society the chance to build relationships like my parents."
David Dhawan says 'Yes'
Producer Mukesh Talreja has officially announced his intentions of remaking Warner Bros.' Hollywood hit WEDDING CRASHERS in Hindi. In fact, Talreja and Warner are currently working out the formalities to go-ahead with the deal.
Now, here's the latest on this project. Talreja has confirmed the badshaah of entertainers, David Dhawan, to helm this project. Reportedly, Salman Khan and Govinda, the PARTNER combo, will star in the film. "David is on board, but it's untrue that we've signed Salman or Govinda for the film in question. In fact, I haven't spoken to Salman yet. We should take a call once we ink the deal with Warner," Talreja confirms, adding that he plans to start the project before the year 2008 comes to a close.
Blaise Fernandes of Warner Bros. endorses what Talreja has stated. "Right now, only David Dhawan has been confirmed. As far as the casting goes, he [Talreja] has always worked with big stars and we're sure, he would opt for impressive names in this project as well," he states.
Padma Shri is a culmination of my hard work: Madhuri
Madhuri Dixit received Padma Shri for her contribution to Indian cinema and the former Bollywood diva says the honour is a result of her hard work and honesty.
"It's always a wonderful feeling to have your work honoured. One has worked so hard for so many years. The Padma Shri is a culmination of all my hard work and honesty. I think I'm being honoured for doing my work sincerely," Madhuri told IANS.
Madhuri's children are in the US with her in-laws and her parents.
"They're all there. I guess my kids are lucky to have three sets of parents. My husband was here with me to share this moment. He left on Sunday."
Did Madhuri's children share her excitement about the award?
"Not the younger one. He's only three. Too young to understand, but my five-year-old son kept asking me why I was getting this award. I told him it was because I did movies in India for many years. 'You did movies. Why? Why do people call you Dixit?' he asked me.
"I think he's finally getting to know that his mom who cooks meals and puts them to bed had a life beyond the home and kids before marriage."
Bollywood's former diva admits it's hard to bridge the gap between the life she has now in the US and her long and successful innings in the film industry.
"I've gotten used to a life with my husband and kids. And to leave them behind in the US and come to Mumbai to work is tough. Although our parents take really good care of the kids, Ram and I still worry about what's happening back home when we're in India," said the actress.
She reigned the Hindi film industry in 1980s and 90s and churned out greatest hits like "Tezaab", "Ram Lakhan", "Beta", "Dil", "Saajan", "Khalnayak", "Dil To Pagal Hai" and "Devdas".
Madhuri says the fact that back home people still want to see her on screen makes her happy.
"It is wonderful to know that people still think about me in my home country, although I don't live here any more. That they still want me back, it makes me feel very wanted."
Last time Madhuri was in the country, it was for the release of her comeback film "Aaja Nachle". The film didn't work, but she says its failure wasn't a blow to her.
"I did my part sincerely. And I did everything I could. So did the whole team. I've worked in this field long enough to know you win some, you lose some. Sometimes you feel everything is going right and the end product still falls apart. It's okay."
So what is she doing to rectify her fans' sense of disappointment?
"Is that your way of asking if I'm doing another movie? Next time I'll ask my fans what they want to see me do on screen. The fact that I did a part for a woman specially written for an actress my age was a triumph. I'm not in India to sign another movie, not this time. I came just to receive the Padma Shri."
After the Padma Shri, Madhuri is staying back in Mumbai to catch up with family friends and a whole lot of personal work.
"I do have a life beyond movies," she laughed.
I finally touch on the Madhuri Dixit aura undiminished by time, marriage, motherhood and the failed comeback vehicle.
"I never thought of what you call an aura. For me this life as a wife and mother was what I dreamt of almost all my life."
Thank God, she did at the right time.
"What's the right time?" she quipped. "If you mean the right time to have kids then let me remind you a 63-year-old woman had twins. Nothing is impossible at any age any more.
"As for me, I had always said if I meet the right person I wouldn't think twice about giving up my career. And that's exactly what I did. I never planned anything in life."
I met Kareena during 'Tashan', so I don't mind it: Saif
"It was great fun making 'Tashan' and something really positive came out of it. I met Kareena during 'Tashan'. That's enough for me," Saif told IANS in an interview. Starring Saif, Kareena, Akshay Kumar and Anil Kapoor, the film fell flat at the box office.
The actor also admits that he wants to spend as much time with his girlfriend as possible. He said: "Look, she's shooting in Australia and I had two months off. So obviously I'd go to visit her. Or if she's doing an event in Andheri and I can join her, I will."
Wagging tongues don't bother Saif who is gearing up for his next release "Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic".
"I know people will talk about it. I don't care. Every relationship goes through a period of consolidation. We've been together for nine months. We both know how much we mean to each other."
"I made a lot of mistakes" - Vivek Oberoi
While on MISSION ISTAANBUL, its lead actor Vivek Oberoi has turned a new leaf. "I made a lot of mistakes, I rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, I got carried away. I went through hell, personally and professionally. The media turned its back on me. Some of the projects I was associated with, evaporated into thin air. Everything I did, backfired," Vivek reminisces as we get into the flashback mode.
"But," he continues in the same breath, "I realized that the problem was with me, not anyone else. If almost everyone was talking ill of me, if almost everyone had trained their guns on me, it only went to prove that I was at fault, it only meant that I need to mend ways. As you sow so shall you reap."
Vivek also admits that the Salman Khan episode -- calling the entire media to his house to malign Salman -- is something he repents. "I used a public platform to malign him. When I felt I must apologize, I did so publicly, not discreetly," he admits honestly.
Quiz Vivek whether he'd work with Salman, Abhishek or Ash, pat comes the reply, "Of course, I would. I am a professional and so are they." Meanwhile, Vivek begins shooting for Tips' new film shortly, followed by Karan Johar's new project.
Celebrity Interview: Rani Mukherjee
By Bollywood Hungama News Network, June 12, 2008 - 13:45 IST
Even if you happen to look like Rani Mukherjee, producers will follow you offering "big" roles - as the romantic interest of the male lead of the film. So, there's no way that a filmmaker would not think of having Rani as the hero's romantic interest. But Kunal Kohli did. For the very first time onscreen, you will see Rani Mukherjee not being playing the love interest of her co-star Saif Ali Khan in Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic. In an exclusive interview for Bollywood Hungama, Mukherjee confesses that it's a testament to her acting skills that she carried off the role with such aplomb, as Devansh Patel finds out more.
What fairy or angel stories influenced you when you were growing up?
That's a good question, a little different from what the others are asking me (laughs). I've seen Mary Poppins and I loved it because we used to sing one of the very famous songs from that film in my singing class which I can't recall now. That's one film. And ofcourse, Sound of Music, though she wasn't an angel in the film but that was one movie I really liked watching as a kid and even now.
You are not only a movie star but a character actress as well. I mean, how hard do you have to work to create the characters you have portrayed in films such as Black, Bunty Aur Babli, Hum Tum and now Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic?
It takes a little bit of your focus to get into the skin of any character. I think I just have to be a bit more observant of the people and watch them in different walks of life and draw inspiration from it. In Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, this angel is a lot Indianized and unfortunately I could not get inspired for my role because I haven't seen a real life angel but I've just given my own touch to it.
The film has got fantasy, it's got reality, kids, Saif Ali Khan and yourself. So what's new in the film that tags it 'unusual'?
What is unusual is that I am playing an angel and I don't think that the Indian cinema, in the last 50 years, has made a film like TPTM. We have had films like Mr India, Koi Mil Gaya and Krissh. But we really haven't seen any women doing anything with super-natural powers before. So this is one film which is a perfect blend between fantasy and real life, and that is TPTM's USP. What's more is that I am not allowed to love in the film. That makes it a bit unusual too, isn't it?
We don't usually see angels perform stunts. But did you come across any cliff-hanging experience in TPTM?
There aren't any such stunts as you mentioned but it's just me cycling down the rainbow to get to the Earth and sitting on different planets trying to create lunar and solar eclipse, so she basically does these things because she is a brat angel who loves to play pranks like throws stars on other angels and harasses them and floats on the swimming pool when she is made to fall down in the pool, etc. These are some of the many things she does in the film.
From being a brat, lets move on to some emotions. We've seen how well you can portray emotions in films. Then what challenged you as an actress for a role like this one which has no emotions?
I think that was something that really made me do this film in the first place because it was my first film in which I will not be seen crying and for me that's wonderful because I have played so many characters who cry in each and every film. Infact, Kunal Kohli has saved a lot of glycerine in this film (laughs).
You're 12 years old in the Hindi Film Industry and now that you've become so choosy, do you find that you've become too old for certain roles or too young for other roles?
I don't think anybody can be too old or too young for any role. It just depends on what kind of role you want to do and you have to be intelligent enough to choose roles which you feel that the audiences would like to see you in. Bearing in mind my height, I can't play a teenage girl of 16 in any film. That will push it a bit too far. But having said that, in movie making, there is nothing impossible that the actors can or can't do. It depends on how fit you are and how good you look. Personally, I'd like to do roles that I enjoy playing and I feel something worthwhile to do in it rather than decide I'm too old or too young for it.
A film like TPTM will surely end something like - '...and happily ever after'. Do you think it's just a myth or can Bollywood change the happy endings in such films?
Kids are so optimistic by nature and they are so positive that I think, any film with kids in them should have a happy ending because these kids are the future of our country who will bring a change in our society, for good, I hope. Plus, there is so much violence out there in the real world that it's wise to show good side in kids and end the film on a happy note.
Is there any frustration after you've done the film and seen it and it all works fine, but you know you could have done something else to make it work better?
I think that happens with every actor. I don't think that's only with me. All the good actors are always complaining about their work not being good and that they could've done better. But filmmaking is all about that moment where you take the shot and where the shot is canned and you have to be as spontaneous and as good as you can be at that point of time. Then they can spend their entire lifetime thinking that 'Oh, I could have been better'. The fact is, when a shot is canned, you have to be focused and have all your energies in that particular shot because it's gone into celluloid forever.
What was it like joining a cast and crew that had already worked together?
It just makes it simpler and much easier. This is Saif's second film with Kunal but my third film with both of them. So I have a great working relationship with them and a great rapport. When you are working with like minded people, it just becomes easier to work.
Out of all the Kunal Kohli films you've done, what would you consider your most memorable one?
Hum Tum because I got my first Best Actress Award for that film which makes it all the more special.
Any aspects of your character you identify with while playing the angel, besides being a brat?
(Laughs) Yes, I do by bringing in a lot of happiness in peoples life and always smiling.
When you talk about any angel, you create in your mind a special wardrobe for them which any director would. But has the designer made your look very simple or is it something extra special we'll be seeing in the film?
When she is in heaven, she is dressed up like the other angels but when she comes on Earth, she has a different wardrobe and that is one look that she has in the entire film. We could have experimented with many things but as we did not specifically know and have not seen any angel in real life, we had to go by the fairy tale books, paintings and costumes worn by other actors who have portrayed the role of angels before. The costumes aren't that special but the acting is.

How does it feel not being able to love your co-star in TPTM?
I think it's very interesting because I've already played a lot of romantic roles and love romancing on screen. This was one welcome change in my character. And as you know I'm very hungry and excited to play different roles, this was also one of them which I really enjoyed playing.
With so many stars turning bloggers, when do we see you join the elite club?
When I really find the time to do that. Right now, I'm too busy and loaded with work.

"You don't move a 50 crore movie fearing competition" - Harman

As things stand today, neither Love Story 2050 nor Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na are buzzing from their stand and sticking to the release date of 4th July. While the two debutant actors Harman Baweja and Imran Khan are pretty much getting ready for the BIG clash, for the former it is not the first time that he is being pitted against competition.
If one jogs down the memory lane, there could well have been a similar situation for the Baweja Junior late 2007 when his Love Story 2050 was originally being planned for a Diwali release. At that time, instead of Harman v/s Imran clash, it was Ranbir v/s Harman clash which was being looked forward to, courtesy the arrival of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya.
Frankly, was it the immense buzz surrounding Ranbir Kapoor that had lead to Love Story 2050 being moved into 2008? Was delay in work on SFX/CGI being just an excuse after all?
"How funny", says Harman after a hearty laugh, "After investing close to 3 years on a film, working with hundreds of crew members, globe trotting to get the best of the technical team in place to get that perfect look for the film, living the film every minute, spending crores and crores and then patiently waiting for it to arrive on the big screen, you don't start looking for excuses to delay your product. Seriously, you don't move a 50 crore movie fearing competition."
Relaxing a little, Harman quips, "Thankfully, industry is a small place and hence these rumors didn't hamper our dream project. After all those silly murmurs of the film being delayed due to other newcomers arriving in Bollywood, insiders started seeing it for themselves that we were actually working on the task rather than relaxing, twiddling out thumbs and letting go off all the big and the small launch pads so that a certain Harman Baweja can finally make a grand entry!"
Harman continues to joke, "I think we shouldn't have spoken about the release timing at all last year. Perhaps for the next film that we start making for which we may have 2009 as the target, we would instead announce the release year as 2011. The industry too would start feeling that we are working on something big and later when we would in fact arrive in 2009, we will claim that we were able to work at a faster pace and are hence ahead of times!"
"Doosra Akshay beech mein aa jaata hain" - Akshaye Khanna

Abbas-Mustan and Akshaye Khanna go back a long way. Besides working in a number of films together, including the biggest hit of 2008 yet, RACE, the director duo and the actor share a terrific rapport in real life. But there's a twist in the tale, at least that's what the rumor mongers would like us to believe.
Rumors are rife that Akshaye has refused an Abbas-Mustan film, to be directed by someone else, on financial grounds. Apparently, post RACE, Akshaye has hiked his fee four-fold and feels that he deserves an 'x' price, which did not suit Abbas-Mustan's budget.
"The hike [in fee] isn't four-fold, it's eight-fold," Akshaye jokes, but gets serious immediately, "The economics of the industry has undergone a change. But my refusal [of an Abbas-Mustan film] had no financial bearings. The reason was something else altogether."
With MERE BAAP PEHLE AAP hitting the screens this Friday, the actor looks forward to working with Priyadarshan every year. "I really enjoyed working in MERE BAAP PEHLE AAP. In fact, working with Priyan relaxes me completely. I keep telling him that we should work in at least one film every year, lekin doosra Akshay beech mein aa jaata hain," he chuckles.
If things go amiss, it makes us more real: Aishwarya

The Bachchan family is busy rehearsing for a perfect world tour from July. But its ethereally beautiful daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai says even if things "go a bit (amiss) here and there" on stage, it only makes the stars real and human.
"You do all that is required professionally to put up an entertaining evening for your fans and well-wishers. But very honestly, my attitude is that I would like to keep it real," Aishwarya told IANS in an interview in Bangkok where she is attending the 9th International Indian Film Academy awards event.
"I love the fact that if things go a bit here and there, it makes us so real and human," said the actress, immaculately clad in a black and white dress.
The Bachchan family is planning a world tour titled "The Unforgettable" from July that will go on till next year.
"It's incredible, the connection with fans, because they never allow you to see them let you down or you letting them down. It is great when it is real and human.
"That's the difference between in-person interaction through our stage shows as opposed to that on celluloid and an audience sitting in a theatre and watching," said the beauty queen-turned-actress who was a showstopper here.
The tour will have Amitabh Bachchan, his son Abhishek, Riteish Deshmukh and Preity Zinta. While Akshay Kumar will join them for the inaugural evening in Toronto July 18, Madhuri Dixit will perform in the US and Shilpa Shetty in Britain.
"We are excited about the guest stars as it makes it novel. In my experience it has never happened before. We are getting guest acts and it is going to be fun for the audiences as well."
She also said that they are trying to live up to the expectations of fans.
"The tour is something extensive and we have been working on it for a while. Through the fan mails and interactions with well- wishers, we get to know what people are looking forward to, apart from the most endearing part of our cinema - song and dance."
She said the audience is the true star.
"Their energy throughout the evening is unbelievable. We don't perform continuously as different artistes are performing and we have our acts, but the audiences are up on their feet throughout and that's what keeps the energy of the whole show."
On the fans who have been following her everywhere, she said: "Our people are very, very loving as you have seen over here.
"Our people come everywhere, be it an event or a film shoot. Yes, the numbers are different. At a stage show it is an entire venue and at a film shoot it is smaller. But our people give us an audience at all the different locations. There is a statistics - one in six is Indian. We are everywhere."
She feels the "the unforgettable" tour will continue the momentum that Indian cinema has gained in recent times.
"It is going to continue the ongoing momentum and going to keep it as strong as it already is. Like always, I keep reiterating that media plays an important role in our lives and in our attempt to reach the people. We are thankful to the media for giving us that kind of reach."

Bollywood's hottest on-screen couple is back after seven years. Kajol has finally agreed to do Karan Johar's next titled "My Name Is Khan" and feature as Shah Rukh Khan's wife in the film about an Indian couple living in the US.
The two were last seen as couple in Karan's 2001 family saga "Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham".
When the media reported the news of her being considered for the role in "My Name Is Khan" early last month, the straightforward actress had retorted by saying that without reading the script she would not give consent to work in a movie even made by her husband, leave alone Karan Johar or anybody else.
According to a source close to the production house, soon after that she went on a holiday with her family and there was a lull on "My Name Is Khan" front. Now it is learnt that she has given the green signal to the movie to be directed by Karan.
Though the movie is scheduled to be launched in December, a buzz has already started that Karan has a winner in his. Not only because it has a hit pair heading the cast, but also because the composer trio, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, has scored some "outstanding" tunes for the movie.
Those who have heard some of the tunes composed with dummy lyrics say that one of the highlights of "My Name Is Khan" will certainly be its music, as it always is in a Karan Johar production.
The launch of "My Name is Khan" has been deferred till December because at present Karan is busy with Dharma Productions' other movies, including Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and John Abraham starrer "Dostana". The film is due for release later this year.
Karan is also planning to launch his erstwhile assistant Ayaan as a full-fledged director. Incidentally, Ayaan is Kajol's first cousin.
Aamir busy casting for his 'Delhi Belly'

We all know that Aamir Khan is meticulous in his planning and work. For his next film "Delhi Belly", the actor is neck deep in casting and has zeroed in on three actors for every part.
Abhinay Deo, who debuts as director with the film, says, "It's an ensemble cast. Every character is equally important. We had zeroed in on Ranbir Kapoor to play one of the parts. But that didn't work out. So our search started again."
He says that the casting progressed to a point where they've more or less zeroed in on three actors for every role.
"We start shooting end-August. We don't have much time to get the entire cast in place," Abhinay told IANS.
Abhinay comes to direction after 350 ads. "I've been making ads since 2006."
Abhinay came in as a replacement to the Swedish director Robert Nylund. Or so we thought until now.
Abhinay explains. "I was approached before Robert. Because of the nature of the film Aamir Khan wanted a fresh director. He started scouting in the advertising industry. He saw some of my work and felt I was the right person to do 'Delhi Belly'," says Abhinay, who is son of veteran Marathi actors Ramesh and Seema Deo.
"Unfortunately at that point of time I was already committed to doing another project with Riteish and Farhan for Excel. That project hasn't gone beyond the scripting stage. That's when Robert came into the picture.
And the award goes to...well, not to Arshad Warsi

When the National Awards were announced, Arshad Warshi was inundated with congratulatory calls for winning the best supporting actor award for "Lage Raho Munnabhai". But the bubble burst soon.
It turned out that Arshad was not the winner, but Dilip Prabhavalkar, who played Mahatma Gandhi in the film.
"First, my family and close friends saw my name being flashed on television non-stop. They rang me up to tell me I had won the National Award for 'Lage Raho..," Arshad told IANS.
"I was like, 'Yesss. I've finally done it.' Throughout the day I got congratulatory SMSs. But then in the evening the bubble burst. I was told that the guy who played Gandhi had got it."
Tough luck. But how did such a blunder happen? When the National Awards were announced wasn't it clearly stated that it was Prabhavalkar who had won it?
"People naturally presumed it was me. But I guess the jury knows best. All I can say is I was deeply disappointed after having been taken right up to the doorstep of a National Award," said the actor, who is in Pattaya shooting for a film.
"But now I can see the funnier side of it. I now know how it feels to win a National Award, so I'm fully prepared for it when it really happens," says Arshad, who after his small stint in Pattaya will head back to Mumbai to shoot for Anil Kapoor's "Shortkut..."
Arshad plays a hammy actor in "Shortkut..." "Maybe, they'll give me the National Award for that," quips Arshad.
In August, he leaves for London to shoot for his first home production. "For the first time, I'll be playing a character the way I'm fully convinced I should."
Name of the Bollywood game: titles trigger disputes!

Bollywood producers are getting into disputes over the titles of their films, which they say are too similar for comfort. A recent case in point is "Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic" and "Thoda Life Thodi Magic".
The aggrieved parties say similar titles will cause confusion among prospective cinegoers and one could dim the prospects of the other at the box-office.
While producer-director Kunal Kohli has already completed "Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic" for Yash Raj Films, due for a June 27 release, actor-producer Saahil Chadha says the name is similar to his film called "Thoda Life Thodi Magic".
Chadha claims to have registered the name with the Title Registration Committee of the Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association (IMPPA) three years ago. As Kohli had registered the title of his movie with the Film and Television Producers' Guild of India, a war of words ensued between IMPPA and the Guild.
Even as Chadha tried to pre-empt Kohli from advertising the movie with the title "Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic," the latter not only started the promo of the movie but also fixed its release date.
Music company Venus' upcoming movie, "Kushti", in which WWW wrestling champion Khali plays himself, has also got embroiled in a battle with producer Anoop Srivastava over the title.
Srivastava claims that he had registered the title, "Kushti" with IMPPA much before Venus. Along with "Kushti," he says, he had also registered two other titles, "Yaaran Di...Kushti" and "Kushti...Ab Aayega Maza", for his proposed movie.
So far, the dispute is far from over.
If these two instances are not enough, producer Bikramjeet Singh Bhullar has also dragged actor-producer Anil Kapoor into a controversy over the title of the latter's under-production movie, "Shortkut."
Bhullar has contended that he had registered the title, "Shortcut" long before Anil conceived the idea for his movie.
In order to put an end to the controversy, Anil quickly added the suffix, "The con is on" to "Shortkut" to make it seem different from the title of Bhullar's movie.
So, Anil's comedy starring Akshaye Khanna, Amrita Rao and Arshad Warsi, is now called "Shortkut... the con is on." Using such subterfuges does seem to be ending the acrimonious wrangles for the time being.
Go Cam Films has also added an appendage, "Follow your heart" to the title of its latest movie "Hastey Hastey". The production house was forced to do so following an order from the City Civil Court, Mumbai, after producer Harwinder Singh filed a petition, claiming that the title "Hastey Hastey" had already been registered in the name of his banner, Global Entertainment.
Prior to the June 30 release of the movie, when Go Cam Films started advertising it, Singh once again moved court, pleading that the banner was using the suffix, "Follow your heart" inconspicuously and highlighting only the words "Hastey Hastey".
So the court served a contempt notice on Go Cam Films and passed an interim order, asking it to henceforth print the movie's full title in uniform letters as "Hastey Hastey Follow Your Heart" and not "Hastey Hastey" in bold letters and 'follow your heart' in small letters.
The court is expected to give its final verdict in the case shortly after taking into account the procedures that associations follow in registering movie titles.
UTV to release comic book based on Mithun Chakraborty

Bollywood production house UTV is all set to bring out a comic book based on Mithun Chakraborty's character Jimmy in 1980s hit "Disco Dancer" and it will soon hit the Indian market.
Titled "Jimmy Zhinchak, Agent of Disco", the book has just been released in the US and is already a hit there, said UTV head honcho, Ronnie Screwvala.
"The book has been published under UTV Spotboy label and we are expecting good response in India, especially from the kids," he said.
UTV had done it in association with Virgin Comics.
The comic will have Mithun Chakraborty in central character mouthing out the best of dialogue from different Bollywood movies.
Few in Bollywood know that when Raj Kapoor was planning to make "Ram Teri Ganga Maili", he had had the entire film drawn in a comic book form based on the movie's script. He had commissioned a professional to do the job under his supervision.
Ritu Kumar's designer son turns musician

Well-known designer Ritu Kumar's younger son Amrish forays into music with his album called "Mummy Daddy Records". It reflects the Indian youth, he says.
"I have been working on this album for more than two years. I have also written a song for the album called 'Zindagi'," Amrish told IANS.
Amrish said his album cannot be classified into any particular genre and that it targets the youth. "It is like the reflection of young India, it is not niche and cannot be put into any particular genre," he said.
The album, released Wednesday, includes songs by budding artists like Papon from a rock band East India Company and also from bands like Rasiya and Jalebi Cartel. Other bands Midival Punditz and Parikrama have contributed too.
Amrish, 30, has been inclined towards music since he was four years old and plays the guitar, though he has not had any formal training.
Kumar's elder son Ashwin is into filmmaking and his "Little Terrorist" was nominated for an Oscar in 2005. After that Ashwin made "The Forest", which had a conservation message.
Before venturing into music, Amrish had designed clothes like his mother and showcased his debut collection under his mother's fashion label Ritu Kumar at the autumn-winter edition of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) held in New Delhi this year.
But now, with his foray into the music industry, is he straying away from fashion design?
"Fashion designing will always be a priority," Amrish said and added that he has no plan to launch his separate fashion label anytime soon.
Simone’s Career is Starting to Sing
Recently seen in Delhi Heights, she will soon be seen in the much anticipated Via Darjeeling. What’s this psychological thriller all about? “A large part of the film is a mystery story told in five different perspectives by a bunch of friends,” she explains. “Friends indulge in some story telling and that changes the story each time it is told.”
How does Simone feel about the way Bollywood is changing? “There is this new kind of cinema coming out of the Mumbai film industry complete with ensemble casts, a sensible budget giving an opportunity to experiment, and a penchant for taking risks. Given this, there is a new climate in the industry, and hence an actor is able to act in films of different genres. There are no restrictions anymore."
Priyanka flying high! Now a film with Ranbir Kapoor
1. Fashion (Dir: Madhur Bhandarkar)
After Corporate, Bhandarkar has chosen to expose the dark side of the fashion industry, with Priyanka as his lead character. She's accompanied by accomplished actress Kangana Ranaut and the two have reportedly hit it off very well. If Madhur's past leading ladies are anything to go by, expect wonders from Priyanka this time around.
2. Love Story 2050 (Dir: Harry Baweja)
With boyfriend and debutant Harman Baweja, Priyanka is set to take on Mumbai in the year 2050 with Bollywood's latest sci-fi flick. The film is said to boast of the greatest special effects Indian cinema has ever seen, so sit tight and get ready for the ride. Priyanka has also taken a major risk here, with red hair in the film--and she pulls it off quite well!
3. Drona (Dir: Goldie Behl)
Yet again, she does something drastically different as she plays bodyguard to Abhishek Bachchan in this Indian superhero flick. Reportedly the film is a fantasy film like never seen before and Priyanka has performed some daring stunts in it. After Don, it will be very exciting to see her attempting action once again.
4. Chamku (Dir: Kabeer Kaushik)
This one hasn't been promoted much, but it co-stars Bobby Deol who Priyanka has worked with earlier. It's another crime drama and from the looks of it one can't be sure if Priyanka has much to do in the film, but let's hope so!
5. Dostana (Dir: Tarun Mansukhani)
Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, this youth-centric romantic comedy looks like it'll be the fresh film of the year. Aiming for a year-end release, it co-stars Abhishek Bachchan once again along with John Abraham, whom Priyanka shared fantastic chemistry with in Karm. She's clarified time and time again, she wears beach wear in this but "not a bikini!" Take note, media!
6. What's Your Rashee? (Dir: Ashutosh Gowariker)
He recently directed Jodhaa Akbar which is one of the most acclaimed and highest grossing films of this year, but this time Ashutosh Gowariker has decided to tackle a comedy. Apparently it is based on a Gujarati novel of the same name and once again she's paired with Harman Baweja.
7. Kaminey (Dir: Vishal Bhardwaj)
She really has hit the jackpot. Even after so many great films coming up, Priyanka recently bagged Vishal Bhardwaj's next venture. Here, she finds herself starring with a new co-star--Shahid Kapur! Nothing has been revealed except that it is a romantic comedy with great characters.
8. Rajniti (Dir: Prakash Jha)
Though it's not finalized, Priyanka has confirmed that she has been offered Prakash Jha's take on politics and the Mahabaarat and is hoping to do the film. However, she is yet to sign on the dotted line. If and when she does sign the project, we will get to see her with Ranbir Kapoor who plays the lead role.
She's got it all; science fiction, action, romance, drama and comedy. What more can an actress ask for? After taking a few steps down, Miss Chopra seems to be crawling up the ladder yet again.
Nysa makes Ajay take a break
As well as being a star of Bollywood, Ajay Devgan is also the proud papa of daughter Nysa and recently she put her foot down. She felt he was away to much and made him cancel all his engagements to take some time off.
Ajay explained, "I had been shooting non-stop for U Me Aur Hum. Then after the promotion and press for my film, I left for Goa for Golmaal. That didn't go down well with my daughter."
So, she made him take a break. “I had no choice in the matter. It was my daughter Nysa's command. And she's the only woman in my life who can make me dance around her little finger. Now that she's all of five, her demands are far more vocal."
He added, “And you know what? I actually enjoy her bullying. I loved spending time with her."
With both parents in the industry sometimes Nysa has to deal with one or the other being gone. Ajay was asked, “But isn't there trouble ahead, what with Kajol agreeing to finally say yes to another feature film and that too, to be shot far away from home in the US?” Seeming to confirm something many a fan has been dying to know, he replied, “You mean Karan Johar's film? No that won't be a problem. I will try to spend as much time with Nysa as possible. But otherwise my parents are as good as us for her. She believes she has two sets of parents. So leaving her at home is not a problem."
Ajay says he is happy with Kajol going in front of the camera again, “She's an extremely talented artiste and we all look forward to her films. I'm very happy that she's working again. She should and must do exactly what makes her happy."
The two recently starred together in his directorial debut, U Me Aur Hum and Ajay says he is happy with the box office of the film, “I could blame the IPL for the film's performance. But that would just be an excuse. U Me Aur Hum was never designed as a blockbuster. It dealt with a serious issue and we got the audience that we wanted. It touched people's hearts. My happiest moment was when the other day I got to know a call centre in Mumbai has put up 'U Me Aur Hum' as their slogan."
Ajay and Kajol will be seen together again in Toonpur Ka Superhero and they just shot a guest appearance in the song ‘Oye Hoye’ for Anil Devgan’s film Haal-e-Dil.
Ajay is also working on Golmaal Returns and laughs at the rumors surrounding his next film as a director, “I read that I had approached Kareena which was news to me. I haven't finalised my script. So how can I ask her or any other actor to be part of my next film? For now I'm happy to have Kareena as my co-star in Golmaal Returns. In fact, we leave for Bangkok in a couple of days to shoot the last song. The sequel is much bigger than the first part. "
Finally Ajay says as a artist he wants to make all sorts of film, “I want to blend out-and-out entertainers like Golmaal Returns with more meaningful cinema. Both are equally important.”
Boxing Mallika

Director Jennifer Chambers Lynch made her first movie in 1993 - Boxing Helena - which has since become a cult classic. Some might argue that it took fifteen years for the storm surrounding the bizarre and taboo-breaking plot to die down, because it wasn't until 2008 that Jennifer made her second movie, Surveillance, a supernatural film about a serial killer.
Now we have the surreal announcement that Jennifer will be making a movie with Mallika Sherawat called Nagin about the legend of the snake woman. The legend was also recently revisited in Shakur Kapoor's Virgin comic Snake Woman, and it dates back at least as far as the Indian epic the Mahabharata. The Nagas (or Nagini - female) are the arch-enemies of the bird-men, the Garuda.
Mallika Sherawat, who won a nomination for Best Actress at the Zee Cine Awards for Murder and who recently appeared with Jackie Chan in The Myth and Kamal Hassan in Dasavatharam is a perfect choice for the role of a Nagin with her sensuous sinuous beauty that has often been shown to best effect in item numbers.
It is also being reported by Variety that Irrfan Khan will also be part of the project and filming starts next month.
Shilpa needs new PR!

Here’s a bit of gossip for you! Shilpa Shetty and PR master Dale Bhagwagar have parted ways. Just two days ago, client and manager decided it was time to split up the team. Dale said, “She is a wonderful person and I thoroughly enjoyed doing her PR. But we'd reached a stage, when we felt it was time to move on. Shilpa and I have been a great team and I wish her loads of success in future too.”
On his high profile roster of clients Dale has Hrithik Roshan, Vivek Oberoi, Randeep Hooda, Excel Entertainment and Hollywood producer Ashok Amritraj's Hyde Park Entertainment.
Imran Khan's next co-star is Kamal Hassan's daughter!
Soon after JTYJN, his next project titled Kidnap will release. It co-stars Sanjay Dutt, Minissha Lamba and Chak De girl Vidya Malvade. The icing on the cake is that Imran will star opposite legendary actor Kamal Hassan's daughter, Shruti, in an upcoming film titled Luck. Once again, Sanjay Dutt has been roped in to essay a part in the film.
The film will be directed by Soham Shah who earlier directed Kaal for Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, until the two had a rumoured fall-out and Soham ventured elsewhere. On Shruti, he tells Mumbai Mirror, "We wanted to cast a new girl opposite Imran and Shruti seemed perfect for the role. We required a girl who would look innocent as well as convincing while doing the action sequences." Action? It looks like Shruti won't be going for a conventional Bollywood debut!
The film begins shooting on July 8th in South Africa and will be shot in one schedule.

Akshaye on 'Mere Baap Pehle Aap'
Akshaye said he decided to a comedy because the script appealed to him, “Apart from the storyline of Mere Baap being unique, I share a very good rapport with the director, Priyadarshan, even though our first project Doli Sajake Rakhna was a disaster. He complements me as an actor. Generally the trend is that if the first movie doesn’t do well, then actors don’t prefer to work with the director or vice versa but it was not the case with Priyadarshan. After four years, we worked together again and enjoyed the experience.”
About co-star Genelia D’Souza, Akshaye said, “She is extremely sweet and a thorough professional. She fits the role. Unlike those who try to ape others, she has got her own style of acting.”
He and Paresh had a wonderful time on set together, he revealed, but it was lots of work and not much play: “The two of us had the house on fire. We used to chat for long hours. Apart from that, there was no scope for fun on Priyadarshan’s sets as we only worked and shot on a very fast pace.”
He was last seen last year’s brilliant Gandhi My Father and though Mere Baap is also about a father and son there is a big difference, “But the mood and concept are entirely different. Here, the son puts his middle-aged, widowed father’s (Paresh Rawal) happiness before his and is also over protective of him.”
The story of the film revolves around Akshaye’s character’s search for a bride for his father, however along the way, old loves come back into both father and son’s life. So on the film reel he is looking for a wife for his father and perhaps finds it for himself, but about marriage for real he said, “No never maybe.”
In the pipleline, Akshaye has Shortkut-The Con with Amrita Rao but he says, “It’s too early to talk about it.”
My top would fit your size zero Kareena

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s five little friends on quiz show ‘Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain’ had loads of fun when actors Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan came as celebrity guests for a special episode.
While 11-year-old Shriya presented a size-zero top to Kareena, Anubhav donned Saif’s look for the episode and even flaunted a ‘Kareena’ tattoo on his forearm. Milanjeet offered them ‘gheewale laddoo’ (a fatty Indian sweet) and Dheriya requested Saif to sing a song and play the guitar.
Saif, who was constantly biting his nails in nervousness, humbly obliged.
In the episode, to be aired on STAR Plus Saturday, Shriya told Kareena: “It (my top) doesn’t fit me anymore but would fit you good.”
When Milanjeet offered sweets to everyone, Kareena, who has been in the news lately for her size-zero figure, took just a nibble while Saif and Shah Rukh gobbled down a ‘laddoo’ each, said a release.
The figure-conscious Kareena, apparently kept looking at herself on a huge LCD screen on the sets to check if she was looking good enough.
The couple, who recently starred in “Tashan”, shared anecdotes about their first meeting and how they fell in love and also spoke about their fights and what they do when they are mad at each other.
Apart from the ‘Paanchvi Ki Paltan’, as the five children are called, Shah Rukh and Saif’s chemistry and their rib tickling pranks added zing and excitement to the show. ‘Saif-eena’, as Shah Rukh named the duo, played for charity.
Hot Rosa taking rest under Saif shadow

Almost one and half a year have passed since Rosa and Saif Ali Khan experienced a split in their dwindling relationship and it’s only now that Rosa has thought of it as perfect time to opine about the issue.
Almost half the world is now very well aware of the matter. But the matter to ponder upon is why Rosa has decided this to be the perfect moment to melt the ice!
Albeit we do not believe in whispering words, a believable source has informed us that Rosa is completely shattered about slowly losing her piece of earth in Bollywood.
It’s true that fulfilling her daydream of getting crowned as the best heroine of the tinsel town is a far cry for the desperate babe, but she has nothing to do as dreams are always like sticky bees that keep coming back.
After the sonorous separation from Saif, Rosa, till date, has nothing, other than few episodes of tele-reality Jhalak Dikhla Ja and an item number in as-appeared-as-gone film Shaurya, in her sleeky showreel.
But those two stuffs are mere than anything required to leave an impact. Still the shunned lady is roaming with the tag of Saif’s ex.
While the scenario is like that Rosa may cry a little either reminding her past with Saif or for the extra burden of Saif’s tag.
Bollywood runs on news and whether it’s the flash of hero slapping his girlfriend or glitz of slipping pallu of any heroine, everything gets served to people with perfect masala. How can such a media savvy town miss such an incident where sad Rosa seemed so desolated and helpless and desperate for free publicity!
Still… under the name of Saif!
Aamir shoots for an episode of Salman’s ‘10 Ka Dum’

They have done only one film together. But that happens to be a cult film. Even today, millions of people stay glued to the T.V. each time Andaz Apna Apna unleashes its hilarious lines…. “Aap purush nahin….mahapurush hain….” Or “Crime Master Gogo hai naam mera… aakhen nikaal kar gotiyan khelta hoon main.” Well, Salman and Aamir Khan will be seen together once again. No, not on big screen, but yes Aamir will be a celebrity guest on Salman’s game show 10 Ka Dum on Sony TV. Now, wouldn’t that be a spectacle!
Recently, Aamir along with nephew Imran Khan shot for an episode way past midnight at a Mumbai studio. An executive from the PR agency handling the show confirmed this news. The episode will be aired in July (maybe matching the July 4th release date of Aamir Khan Production’s next Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na). Unlike others, Aamir has made rare appearances on TV reality shows. The first one was for Amitabh Bachchan’s Kaun Banega Crorepati and then more recently on Little Champs.
There had been reports in a certain section of the media that the song ‘Pappu Can’t Dance’ in Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na is based on the bachelor life of Salman Khan. Aamir had vehemently denied the report by saying, “In fact, Salman dances better than me and the song is most certainly not based on him.” Film’s director Abbas Tyrewala had clarified that if the song makes fun of anyone then it is that of Aamir Khan for it has a reference to ‘Papa Kehte Hain Bada Naam Karega’.
Now, wouldn’t it be fun if Salman actually dances to Pappu… and Aamir and Imran follow suit! What do you say?
Revealed: How Vidya Balan and Shahid’s affair started

Post his break up with Bebo, Shahid is hitting the headlines yet once again. Thanks to his latest affair with Vidya Balan! Everyone is talking about it, but no one knows how it all started.
Contrary to many believes that it was Shahid who was on a rebound and found solace in Vidya’s arms, it was Vidya who took initiative and got something flowing between them.
It was on the sets of Kismat Konnection in Canada. They had never met each other or interacted before. Upon that, they were supposed to shoot an extra intimate romantic scene.
Needless to say, both were nervous and not at ease at all.
A birdie from the sets reveals, “Shahid is an introvert and takes time to open up to people. The unit was worried because Vidya and Shahid had never met each other before. Worst it was the first day of the shoot and the scene to be shot was a romantic one.”
But then our Vidya is one hell of a girl. She decided that enough is enough and she is going to break the ice between the both.
“Vidya just walked up to Shahid. “Autograph please, ” she said placing an autograph book before him. The move took Shahid by complete surprise and he broke into laughter.
The scenario changed completely. The atmosphere suddenly seemed warm and friendly. And what’s more the romantic scene was okayed in just one take, ” the source adds.
Vidya confirmed the incident saying, “Shahid and I had not known each other. He stood aloof and so did I. I decided to break the ice and begged for his autograph. An embarrassed Shahid did not know where to look. We have turned good friends since then.”
Just good friends! We wonder if everyone is lying about them!
Ranbir and Konkona Together!

Gee, what a pair! But there you have it. Saawariya star Ranbir Kapoor is all set to star opposite the twice National awarding winning Konkona Sen-Sharma in a film that will be produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Production.
This highly unorthodox confluence of a Punjabi heir-apparent and the Bengali bohemian is being directed by Ayaan Mukherjee who’s a cousin of Kajol.
Ayaan has assisted Ashutosh Gowariker in Swades and Karan Johar in Kabhi Alvidaa Na Kehna.
Says a source, “It wasn’t so much because Ayaan was Karan’s pal Kajol’s cousin. It had more to do with Ayaan’s script than anything else that clinched the deal. The minute Karan read it he fell in love with it.”
But aren’t Ranbir and Konkona coming together like the synthesis of Venus and Mars?
“That’s exactly the point. In this Mumbai-based romance about urban relationships the director needed a pair that seems incompatible. The film is about seeking a level of compatibility in a world gone distinctly out of control.”
Apparently when Ranbir and Konkona heard the script they immediately fell in love with the script.
Now all they’ve to do is fall in love with one another on screen
